This blog is my attempt to journal my journey into homesteading. Wikipedia says that homesteading is a lifestyle of self-sufficiency. It is characterized by subsistence agriculture, home preservation of foodstuffs. My goal for my first year is to have a successful garden, preserve as much of the bounty as I can, raise, butcher and fill my freezer with meat chickens and continue to be successful with my laying hens.
